Good Bye May. Hello June.

GOOD-BYE-MAY.png

What a month! This has been one of the busiest, craziest, most rewarding months I've experienced. I don't want to be one of those people, but this has been one of the most blessed months. Here's what has happened.

Banff

May

My mom asked me if I wanted to spend a week in Banff all expenses paid. Of course I said yes. It was a sweet time to get in some good mom time. And when she was off attending her conference, I went to the local brewery to work. And, the best of the besties had a little day in Banff herself and joined me for a little lunch - super sweet!

This was also my mom's first time trying a Beavertail. Only 55 years in the making, but it happened. And she loved it. So, dear Beavertails Canada, you may have a new loyal customer.

Burger Fest

May

Not 24 hours after I returned from Banff, I was running around the city ambassing (yeah, I made that up) for a selection of great restaurants in Calgary for the 10 Day Burger Fest Battle. I had the opportunity to experience Parc Calgary, One 18 Empire and The Living Room as their Burger Fest Ambassador.

Bourbon & Honey: The Blog

Lime tart 7

May was a record month for Bourbon & Honey. This tiny little blog is growing its own little community, which is so great to see. The other day I was talking with a girl who I haven't seen in years tell me she made my Coconut Avocado Grasshopper Bars the other day, and I nearly cried. To hear that people are not only reading, but doing something with this content whether it is making the recipes or sharing or commenting just makes my digital marketer soul sing.

Some of your favorite posts this month:

Bourbon Battles: A Fight for the Cocktail

Hiking Essentials: 5 Hiking Trip Must Haves

Coconut Lime Tarts

Oven-Baked Churros

Also on the blogging front, I had the opportunity to attend a few, really fun events this month as a blogger. Rounding out the fun:

Porto & Duoro Wine Tasting

Good Earth's 25th Anniversary Celebration

United Way GenNext Gala

Baptism

This might be THE reason this month was so special. I got baptized! Making this decision was one of the hardest things I have done. And for the most ridiculous reason, too. Whatever the reason, it no longer matters because it happened. I did it.

Huge shout out to my church family at First Alliance Church Calgary. I'm so glad I found you guys. Y'all make life so much fun. Beyond grateful to do life with you guys.

Everything Else

May

We round out this month with a couple of girls days, including a short trip out to Banff for a little brunch and hot springs with two of my favorite ladies. And I tagged along on Kaitlin's pampering weekend and got a little pedicure.

Hello June

May

I am very excited about this upcoming month. I don't think it will be as packed as May; however, a time of rest might be needed after a marathon month. I just wanted to let you guys in on what I am planning for Bourbon & Honey.

Look for a few more healthier recipes, especially for those summer days when turning on the oven is just not going to happen. Also be on the lookout for summer hair care tips. And workout gear must-haves. And the launch of a super fun start up in Calgary. And maybe something to celebrate my best friend's graduation, my parents' anniversary, Father's Day AND my papa's birthday.

Okay so maybe it's gonna be another crazy month. But at least this city has enough coffee to keep us going.

Finally, THANK YOU to all of you for making this past month so much fun. There would be no Bourbon & Honey without y'all. So thank you for reading and sticking with me with this little project. I love you all!!
